Marie-Louise Gabrielle of Savoy

Marie-Louise of Savoy (September 17th 1688 Turin - February 14th 1714 Madrid) was the second girl of the king of Piedmont-Sardinia Victor-Amédée II and of Marie-Anne of Orleans, niece of Louis XIV, it was to marry in 1701 the new king of Spain Philippe V, grandson of Louis XIV.

In 1702 was to burst the War of succession of Spain, opponent Philippe V with the archduke Charles, a long and ruinous war. Marie-Louise supported her husband, not hesitating to pay her person, traversing the Spain, recruiting partisans.

She exerted a great influence on her husband, but itself underwent ascending princess of Ursins (or Orsini). She had 4 children: Louis of Spain (25 aoû 1707 - August 31st, 1724), king d' Espagne. Philippe (July 2nd, 1709 - July 8th, 1709). Philippe (June 7th, 1712 - December 29th, 1719). Ferdinand VI (September 23rd, 1713 - August 10th, 1759), king d' Espagne. She died in 1714. She was very liked in Spain.
