Achievements
; French theater: Starting from 1767, Marie-Joseph Peyre and Charles De Wailly) work with the project of new the Th3e4atre Fran1cais, current the Théâtre of Odéon. The March 26th 1770, a decree of the Council orders the execution of the project on the ground of the garden of the hotel of Prince de Condé. In 1773 the project of Peyre and De Wailly is put in competition with that of Moreau, architect of the king. But thanks to Sir, brother of the king, the Peyre project and De Wailly are definitively stopped with the autumn 1778. Work begins in May 1779. The site of the theater was very slightly modified compared to the preliminary draft, so as to bring it closer to the Palais of Luxembourg, remains of Sir, so that it “is a new approval for their dwelling”. In front of the opposition of the actors of the French to this site, the Room means to them “that one would withdraw their privileges and pensions to them and that another troop would be formed, if they persisted in their opposition”. The February 16th 1782, the actors of the French are installed in their new walls. New the Th3e4atre Fran1cais is inaugurated by the queen Marie-Antoinette the April 9th 1782. This theater is accompanied by a typical allotment of the urban embellishments of the 18th century.
