The skater speed Marie-Eve Drolet, originating in Laterrière to the Saguenay-Lake-Saint-Jean, was double champion of the world junior. She also represented Canada with the Olympic Games of Salt Lake City in 2002 and to gain the bronze medal with the relay 3000m. She was member of the club of speed skating the Comets of Chicoutimi.
