Mariann Fischer Boel

Mariann Fischer Boel , born the April 15th 1943 with Aasum with the Denmark, is a political woman Danish. She is European police chief in charge with agriculture and rural development in the Commission Barroso since the November 22nd 2004.

Political career

Mariann Fischer Boel is member of the Liberal party. It was president of the electoral constituency of Kerteminde for its party of 1986 with 1990 then sat at the office of the Liberal party starting from 1990.

Its activity at the European commission

In May 2007, at the time of the debate on the methods of financing of the project of the system of positioning Galileo, it protested against the proposal of Jacques Barrot to partly make finance the 2,4 billion additional euros by transfers of “appropriations not consumed” coming from various accounts of the community budget (agricultural assistances for cereal stocks, research appropriations, funds European against the natural disasters): the financing of Galileo cannot depend on the course of the cereals .
