Mariachi
The term mariachi indicates all at the same time a type of musical formation originating in the state of Jalisco, with the Mexico, the style of music associated, and a musical culture near to these two elements. A group of Mariachis is made up at least of two Violon S, two trumpet S, a player of Guitare, a Vihuela and of a Guitarron. Certain formations comprise several tens of musicians.
Origins of the mariachi
The word mariachi was regarded a long time as a deformation of the French word “marriage”, introduced in Mexico at the time of the emperor Maximilien at the 19th century, because this music very often accompanies the ceremonies and Mexican festivals by marriage. This origin is disputed today by historians who affirm that the word existed before the arrived of the French troops.
Another possibility would be that the word comes from the language of the Indians Coca of the 16th century. It then indicated a wood platform of Pilla or Cirimo on which the musicians played together. It was claimed besides thereafter that the instruments of mariachi were manufactured with these gasolines, which remains subject to deposit.
The music mariachi such as it today is known finds its origins in the Mexican area of Jalisco, even according to certain popular legends in the town of Cocula, at the 19th century. The formations mariachis were close to the Spanish orchestras of theater, consisted of violins, Harpe and guitars. At the end of 19th, the Vihuela , the two violins and the Guitarron (replacing the toothing-stone), constituted the basic quartet of the groups of mariachis.
Development of the music mariachi
