Maria Rosseels

Maria Rosseels , born on October 23rd, 1916 in literature with Borgerhout and dead on March 18th, 2005 in literature with Brasschaat, is a writer E and Belgian Journaliste of expression Dutch E.

After having spent four years in teaching, it starts to work in 1947 for the newspaper De Standaard . During thirty years, it occupies to with it heading cinema like female heading. Its first book, Sterren in poolnacht , date also of 1947.

Its most known work is Dood van een not (1961). It was carried to the screen in 1975 by Paul Collet and Pierre Drouot and was interpreted by actors like Janine Bischops, OJ De Meyere and Josine van Dalsum.

In 1981, a collection of its works of fiction is published and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven decrees to him the title of Honorary doctor. In 1984, it is the first woman to obtain the Oeuvreprijs van of Vlaamse Gemeenschap (formerly Staatsprijs ) for the whole of its career. In 1985, the title of baroness is granted to him.

A recurrent theme in its novels is the problems with which the Christians struggle in the modern world. She also pled for the emancipation of the woman in the preserving Flanders of the years 1950 and 1960.
