Maria-sama ga miteru

Maria-sama ga Miteru (original title: マリア様がみてる, the Virgin Mary (you) looks at ), also called by the short form Marimite , is a series of novels write by Oyuki Konno and illustrated by Reine Hibiki, always in progress in Japan (the 30e volume left about June 2007) in the Cobalt magazine of Shueisha, which was adapted in animated series (two seasons of 13 episodes + a third season of 5 OAVs and a fourth season is envisaged), out of CD drama, and manga (magazine this time by Nagasawa Satoru) which currently comprises 7 volumes.

New pupil at the catholic school private for young girls of Lillian , Yumi Fukuzawa is approximate one day by Sachiko Ogawasara, one of the most popular pupils of the school, which requires of him to become its little sister . Marimite attempts to describe the rather strong relations linking between them several pupils, and for this reason was often describe as a Anime Yuri.

Terms employed

The principle of the Sempai and the Kohai, or in other words the experienced pupil and his young less advanced comrade, plays a key function among the Japanese students, and one thus finds it in many Anime. Another characteristic of Lilian, the council of the pupils ( Yamayurikai ) consists of three pupils bearing the pink names of ( Rosa gigantea , Rosa chinensis and Rosa foetida ), helped of their little sisters (named In button ). The council of the pupils is an elected body, and the little sisters of the pinks are thus not ensured to be elected the year there according to.

Characters

Rosa Chinensis

  • Fukuzawa Yumi is the heroin of Maria-sama ga miteru . In first year at the Lilian school, shy person and awkward, it will find himself in the center of the attention of all the school as Ogasawara Sachiko, one of the most popular pupils of Lilian, expresses his intention to make his little sister of it. She describes itself like a fan of Sachiko, and does not include/understand the interest that the latter carries to him.

  • Mizuno Youko , raises of third year and Rosa Chinensis .

Rosa Foetida

  • Shimazu Yoshino , raises of first year and cousin of Hasekura Rei which is also its big sister , which took the practice since childhood to take care that the character of battery of his/her cousin does not tire too her weak constitution.
  • Hasekura Rei , raises of second years and Rosa Foetida in button . In spite of its male appearance (short hair, practicing kendo), it is without any doubt most female of the two cousins.
  • Torii Eriko , raises of first year and Rosa Foetida . Its characters is developed little in the animated series, one knows just it that it adores what leaves the ordinary one.

Rosa Gigantea

  • Toudou Shimako is resulting from a Buddhist family and is admired first years. In the beginning, Sachiko had stated to want to make its little sister of it but Sei took it speed. Sei not having chosen any little sister as it was in first year, Shimako becomes automatically Rosa Gigantea in button .
  • Satou Sei , in third year with Lilian and Pink Gigantea , is a case with share among the characters of the series: noisy, despizing conventions, adoring to tease the others (in particular the Rosa Chinensis ) but always lends to help, it hiding place a tormented personality.
  • Nijou Noriko (only in the second season) becomes the little sister of Shimako and the news Rosa Gigantea in button after the beginning of the New Year's Day and the departure of the old Pinks.

Animate

Maria-sama ga miteru (13 episodes) was followed from one second season, Maria-sama ga miteru ~ Haru (13 episodes). There also exists on the Japanese DVD of these two series of the special episodes, Maria-sama nor wa naisho .

Go back to diffusion: from 1/7/2004 to 3/31/2004 ( Marimite ) and from 7/4/2004 to 9/26/2004 ( Haru ).

A third season in the form of OAV left in DVD between November 2006 and July 2007.
