Marguerite III of Flanders
Marguerite de Dampierre , 1350 - 1405, countess of Flanders and Artois, duchess of Burgundy etc
It was twice duchess of Burgundy by marriage, and suo swears a large heiress (heiress supposed of Flanders, Nevers, Rethel, the Brabant, Limbourg, Artois and Franche-Comté). It is the ancestor of the 2nd line of dukes of Burgundy, by its second marriage.
Biography
Girl and heiress of Louis de Male (1330-1384), count de Flandre ( Louis II ), count de Nevers and count de Rethel ( Louis III ) (1346-1383), count de Bourgogne and of Artois ( Louis Ier , 1382-1383), by its marriage with Marguerite of the Brabant (1323-1368), girl junior by the duke Jean III of the Brabant.Niece and heiress of the duchess Jeanne of the Brabant and Limbourg. In 1368, after the death of her mother, it becomes “duchess of the Brabant and Limbourg”.
Grand-daughter of Marguerite Anger of Burgundy (1310-1382), countess of Burgundy and Artois (girl junior by king de France Philippe V Length and by the countess Jeanne II of Burgundy and Artois), heiress of her great nephew Philippe Ier for the counties of Burgundy and Artois, and countess Louis Ier of Flanders, Rethel and Nevers.
In 1357, at the seven years age, it married in first marriage Philippe de Rouvres (1346-1361) (eleven years), his/her cousin with the second degree, small son and heir to the duke Eudes IV of Burgundy, only son and heir to the countess Jeanne Ire of Auvergne (1326-1360) and Boulogne with Mister Philippe of Burgundy (1323-1346). Philippe de Rouvres was count de Bourgogne (1347-1361), count d' Artois (1347-1361), duke of Burgundy (1349-1361), count d' Auvergne (1360-1361) and count de Boulogne (1360-1361).
Widow in 1361, at the 11 years age, Marguerite became duchess heiress of Burgundy (1361-1369).
In 1369, at 19 years, it married in second weddings Philippe Bold the , duke Philippe II of Burgundy, 1342-1404, of the line of Valois, fourth wire of the king Jean the Good (1319-1364) and of Jutta of Bohemia (Bonne of Luxembourg, 1315-1349). His/her father the king duke of Touraine 1359-1363, duke of Burgundy (1364-1404), count de Charolais 1390-1404. Because of its marriage, with died of Louis de Male in 1384, he inherited the counties Burgundy, Artois, Flanders, Rethel and Nevers.
Marguerite was countess of Burgundy (1384-1405), of Artois (1384-1405) (Marguerite II), of Flanders, of Nevers, and Rethel (1384-1405).
In 1406, his/her son Antoine junior by Burgundy inherited the duchies the Brabant and Limbourg.

let us note that Marguerite de Dampierre for this reason, in nominal manner and “ consorte ”, his/her grandmother Marguerite Ire preceded by Burgundy under countess of Burgundy and Artois.By its first marriage (with Philippe Ier of Reopen : she became countess of Burgundy (1357-1361) , countess of Artois (1357-1361), duchess of Burgundy (1357-1361), countess of Auvergne (1360-1361) and countess of Boulogne (1360-1361), by its second marriage (with Philippe II Bold the ): duchess of Burgundy (1369-1404).
Notice that Marguerite, by the play of alliances, was twice countess of Burgundy and countess of Artois (initially by marriage, then of its own boss) and twice duchess of Burgundy by marriage.
His/her children
She had of her marriage with Philippe II Bold the:-
Jean without Fear, born on May 28th 1371, in Dijon, assassinated on September 10th 1419 on the bridge of Montereau;
- Charles, born in March 1372, dead on July 13rd 1373;
- Antoine, born in 1384, count de Réthel, then duke of the Brabant, died with the Battle of Azincourt, on October 25th 1415;
- Philippe, born in October 1389, dead on October 25th, 1415 with the battle of Azinourt, become in 1404, by renunciation of his/her brothers Jean and Antoine, count de Nevers and of Réthel;
- Marguerite, born in October 1374, married on April 12th, 1385 with Guillaume IV of Bavaria, count de Hainaut, of Holland and Zealand.
- Catherine, born in the 1378, dead on January 25th, 1425; married on August 15th, 1393 with Léopold IV, duke of Austria.
- Good, born in the 1379, dead on September 10th, 1399.
- Marie, born in August 1380, dead on October 6th, 1428; married in May 1401 with Amédée VIII, count then duke of Savoy.
