This congress will upset its life because it henceforth decides to be devoted to the defense of the women's rights.
The following year, it founds the Sling , located 14 rue Saint-Georges; the first number appears on December 9th, 1897. Direction with the drafting while passing by the typography, it is a newspaper exclusively elaborate by women. This newspaper, called “ Time in underskirt” and which, according to the words of Durand, was “like the other newspapers… not more amusing”, supported the methods of the report (direct observation and testimony of the event). It was a daily newspaper until 1903 then it became monthly until 1905. Many feathers collaborated in it such as Severine, Marcelle Tinayre, Lucie Delarue-Mardrus or Clémence Royer.
After the Sling , Marguerite Durand founds two other newspapers, the Action in 1905 and the News in 1909. In 1910, it is presented to the legislative elections in the 9th district but its candidature is rejected by the prefect of the Seine. It again tries an entry in policy while being presented to the municipal elections of 1927 with the party republican-Socialist

Located initially in the 5th district, the library Marguerite Durand since 1989 is located in the 13th district.
