Margaret Somerville
Margaret Somerville (1942 -) is a ethician, a lawyer and a Canadian and Australian professeure. It occupies the pulpit Samuel Gale of the Université McGill and teaches in the medical colleges and of right.
After having supplemented studies Pharmaceutical S with the University of Adelaide in 1963, it obtains a LL.B with the Université of Sydney in 1973.
In 1978, it supplements a Doctorat in civil right to the McGill university. In 1984, it becomes professeure Titulaire. It will found then the center of medicine, ethics and right of the university, which it directs of 1986 to 1996.
Consulting in medical ethics and Bioethics with the international scales, she worked with ONUSIDA and the the World Health Organization.
Auteure of several works, conferences and articles of newspapers, it moreover argued against the legalization of the Euthanasie. It also was critical vis-a-vis the Circoncision, the Female genital mutilations and the Homosexual marriage.
Its fields of interest are the ethical , the medical Droit, the medical Droit compared, the criminal Droit and the civil Délit.
