Marek Malík

Marek Malík (born the June 23rd 1975 with Ostrava in Czechoslovakia) is a player of professional Hockey Czech, playing station of defender and evolving/moving in the National league of hockey with the Rangers of New York.

Career in club

Before joining Rangers, Malík played for Vítkovice, the Whalers de Hartford/Hurricanes of the Caroline, Malmö IF and the Canucks of Vancouver.

It east chooses by Whalers in third round (72e choice) during the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1993.

During its stay with Canucks, it gained, ex-aequo with Martin Saint-Louis of the Lightning de Tampa Bay, the Trophée of more/less LNH. With the advent of a new era in the LNH, it signed a three year old contract to Broadway, where its defensive play of quality helped Rangers to cut a place in series for first once in 8 years.

Especially recognized for its brilliance in defensive, Malík became day with the lendemin a feeling by beating the guard Olaf Kölzig of the Capitals of Washington in shooting while placing its stick between its legs to strip a shooting which went to place in the upper part of the net the November 26th 2005.

International career

Marek Malík gained also the medal of Bronze to the Olympic Games of Turin of 2006 with the Équipe of Czech Republic of hockey.
