Marek Halter
Marek Halter arrived to France in 1950, at the 14 years age, accompanied by his/her parents. “Without-paper” the first years, it is declared Apatride. The administration is mistaken in name and the registered voter then like Aron Halter, born on January 27th, 1932. It is only in 1980, the year when it is naturalized thanks to Simone Veil, then Ministre for Health, which it manages to recover his true first name Marek.
Marek Halter is born on January 27th, 1936, with Warsaw, of a father printer and a mother poetess Yiddish.
The Nazis occupy Warsaw in September 1939 and create the ghetto on October 10th, 1940. One month and half later, thanks to the catholic friends of its father, printers like him and members of the same trade union, he escapes and passes in the Polish part occupied by the Red Army, result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement.
At the beginning of the war Germano-Soviet, the family is with Moscow. Stalin sends them in Ouzbékistan. Halter arrive at Kokand, town of 300.000 inhabitants submerged by a million refugees. Famine, epidemic, Bérénice, the little sister of Marek Halter dies of hunger. His/her parents are struck by the Diphtérie. It becomes a “Without law” and flies to save his parents.
At the end of the war, the “without-law” are integrated in the movement the Pioneers. Thus at the time of the first festival of the victory over the Nazism, Marek Halter is found in a delegation of the Pionniers of Ouzbékistan which go to Moscow with the other delegations of the Soviet republics to give of the flowers to Stalin. The scenario writer Sergei Kostine integrated this image in his film on the life of Marek Halter, “the son of the Bible and Alexandre Dumas”, produced by the television channel Rossia.
In 1946, Marek Halter and its parents turn over to Poland where they reside until their departure for France, equipped then with a collective visa.
It goes to Israel for the first time in 1951 and works in a Kibbutz.
Candidate with becoming painter, it is registered as of his return to Paris at the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Art schools. In 1954, he is prize winner of the International prize of Painting of Deauville and prize winner of Biennial of Ancone. Its first exposure takes place in Buenos Aires in 1955.
In 1967, it founds and chairs the International committee for Peace Negotiated the Middle East.
In 1976 it makes appear its first entitled book the insane one and the kings who receives the Price Today. In addition to a score of novels, accounts and tests, whose Memory of Abraham, Price of the Book Inter 1984, Marek Halter received the Grand Prix of the Book of Toulon 1996 for the whole of its work.
It founds in 1991 the French University College of Moscow and a year later that of Saint-Pétersbourg. He is currently President of the Colleges.
He carried out documentary for France 2: If Jerusalem to me were counted , as well as a series of emissions on TF1: Adventures of the Good .
Marek Halter is also the author of a film: Right the , devoted to all those which, in Europe, risked their life to save Jews.
