Marek Grechuta
Marek Grechuta , born the December 10th 1945 with Zamość and dead the October 9th 2006 with Cracow, was a Chanteur, Compositeur and Parolier Polish.
He had studied the Piano in his childhood. He left then to Cracow to study there the Architecture with the Polytechnic school of Cracow, and began in 1967 in student cabaret named Anawa (" ahead "). This same year it gained the second place of the Life national competition of the student singers ( VI Ogólnopolski Konkurs Piosenkarzy Studenckich ), and was also rewarded for the song Tango Anawa (music composed by J.K. Pawluśkiewicz, with which it worked since the Anawa ). From this date, it frequently gained prices with the Festival of Music Polonaise of Opole.
Influenced as much by the Jazz, the Rock'n'roll and the popular songs, he wrote many songs in which mix with the poetic and literary elements, according to the Polish type of the " poetry chantée" , and was a great success in its country. Become one of the symbols of the Piwnica pod Baranami (" the Cellar under Béliers" , large literary cabaret of Cracow), it sang its own texts, those of the large Polish poets or contemporary authors. He died in 60 years after a long illness.
