Marcus Perperna Veiento

Marcus Perperna Veiento (or Vento ) is a Roman politician wire of Marcus Perperna, the Consul of -92. He is thus of Etruscan origin what explains its particular onomastics.
He is named Préteur in -82, he belongs then to the political current of the Populares which had arrived at the capacity thanks to Marius. At the time of the return of Sylla, Perperna is governor of Sicily. It is proscribed and organizes the rebellion against Sylla since its province. Overcome by Pumped, it must however leave it and flee in Hispanie. There, it joined Sertorius and must face at its sides the armies of Rome directed by Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius and Pompée. Perperna ends up betraying and assassinating Sertorius before being captured and carried out by Pompée in -72.
