Marco Basaiti
Marco Basaiti (~1470 - after 1530) is a painter of the Venetian school, considered as the rival of Giovanni Bellini.
Biography
Originating in the Balkans, its exact date of birth and that of its arrival in Venice are not known, but it works there around 1496 with the workshop of Alvise Vivarini. Its tables are on religious subject and also portraits and it uses bright colors in its tables contrary for the use of the time.
