Marcilly-sur-Seine

Marcilly-sur-Seine is a common French, located in the department of the Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.

History

This village, located at the edge of the Seine and of the Paddle is downstream from these two rivers. Formerly, Marcilly-sur-Seine was a crossing point of the barges charged with wood. The tow path which begins in Marcilly and which finishes in Barberey is the witness. Moreover, these tow paths are very snuffed tourists who find there a framework pleasant to walk there. The village counts some trade of which a bakery and a coffee. This village tries to remain very active by organizing many events as the employers' festival, one of the most attended canton. Vestiges of an enclosing wall of medieval castle are to be seen in this village which has accuelli great personalities of the Middle Ages. A superb castle had been built to accommodate these distinguished guests but that Ci at summer destroyed at the time of the two wars. Superb middle-class houses are also to see on the Quay of the Seine.
