Marcellin Yacé

Marcellin Yacé (June 5th 1963 - September 19th 2002) was a producer, musician and arranger of the Ivory Coast, born with Treichville, one of the popular quarters of Abidjan, the capital of the Ivory Coast at that time. It is resulting from a family of 6 children (three sisters and two brothers) and his father Yacé Cyrille him even musician Saxophoniste governed his musical formation as of the first hours of its existence. It marked of its print of genius several generations of musicians and music lovers. Indeed, until its death in September 2002, Marcellin was built and maintained with the more high level, a reputation “of arranger to the magic key” of “maker of hits”. Its solid musical formation made of him a very changeable musician easily being able to create a whole album of hit Zouglou or Reggae (Examples: the be chick choc' , Serge Kassy), to ensure arrangements and the execution of the parts of flutes, saxophones, and synthetizers at the time of multiple rounds in the world (Example: Kiyi villages), to collaborate with musicians of planetary size (Example: Lokua Kanza), and to ensure the production under various labels of hits in the family studio the ISCED of Arts of Cocody to Abidjan. In the years 1980, on the initiative of the mayor of Divo (Fire Konian Kodjo Félicien ), Marcellin sets up and frames a group of local young talents (of which David Tayorault and Manou Gallo) in order to animate the commune of Divo and to represent it with the various national artistic contests. This group of amateurs, reinforced in 1984 by more experienced musicians (Fire Marino, Billy Syncop, Ano Cesar, and Tiane) and managed by Konian Francois, “the Boss”, will become celebrates it group Woya which ignited the stages of West Africa during a whole decade and left the music brass band of the Ivory Coast of its rut. Marcellin Yace was killed at the first hours of the attempt at Coup d'etat which degenerated into long a Civil war, on September 19th 2002 with the Cité of arts (Cocody, Abidjan) to leaving the Studio Yacé Bros .
