Marcellin Boudet

Marcellin Boudet , known as also Boudet de Montgascon, historian of High-Auvergne, was born on February 1st 1834 in Maringues in the Puy-de-Dôme, wire of Claude and Marguerite Moinier, deceased the July 4th 1915 in Clermont-Ferrand.

Its historical research and topographic on Gergovie interested Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte.

It is one of the founders in 1898 of the Société of High-Auvergne with Roger Grand and Jean Brunhes. A long time president, makes him repurchase into 1903 the ruins of the castle of Carlat

Biography

Clerk of solicitor in Paris, it returns to be established in 1856 in Clermont as lawyer, and becomes in 1871 prosecuting attorney at the court of Riom.

By its marriage in 1866 with Cecile Bouygues de Boschâtel, it is established in Aurillac.
