Born in 1947, Marcelle Padovani is resulting from a rather modest Corsican family from which it undoubtedly draws a republican political culture. In November 1970, it leaves the Express train for the Nouvel Observateur.
It is initially primarily in charge with the PCF and the various forces gauchists (Proletarian Gauche, LCR, PSU). But it is also sensitive to the situation of the areas and has evil to make pass an article in which it denounces “control hard Corsica” (June 14th, 1971) because of the bonds that the leaders maintain the newspaper (in particular Pierre Bénichou) with Castel, associated in an investment in the Cavallo islands. Mobilized to cover the municipal elections of 1971, it tends then to more treating Socialist party, which it does in a direction favorable to CERES, in particular at the time of the congress of Epinay.
