Marcel Valière

Marcel Valière (born in 1906 and deceased in 1973) is a Instituteur and Syndicaliste French, historic leader of l´ émancipée Ecole.

Biography

General secretary of the Unit Federation of teaching in 1935, it negotiates the reunification of the teaching federations CGT and CGTU. Moved office under Vichy to have taken part in the general strike of November 30th, 1938 and to have reconstituted the friendly layman of its village of l´ Herault, it engages in clandestinity in 1943, taking part in the rebuilding of the National union of the Teachers (SNI) of which he is member of the National office.

After the end of the war, Valière incarnates the revolutionary tendency trade unionist of the SNI and is in opposition to the line of the " to produce initially, assert ensuite". In 1948, after the scission of the CGT, Valière is one of the principal craftsmen of the autonomy of the Fédération of state education (FEN) with respect to the general confederation.
