Marcel Uderzo

Marcel Uderzo is a draftsman of cartoons French. He is the brother of Albert Uderzo.

Biography

Marcel Uderzo was born on December 20th, 1933 with Clichy-sous-bois in the Paris region, within a family of immigrants Italy NS.

In 1938, all its family settles in the 11 {{E}} district of Paris, street of Montreuil, in a district of craftsmen.

When it leaves the school, being the junior by a phratry of five children, like a heard business, his/her father craftsman Luthier teaches this marvellous trade to him.

In 1964, the relations between his/her father and it worsen. Thinking of taking his retirement, his/her father thinks of selling the family business. The professional life of Marcel then will take a turn to enter the magic world of the Cartoon.

Of 1964 with 1965, its beginnings in the data base were marked by a self-educated training. Marcel agrees with his brother, the draftsman Albert Uderzo: during one year, at his place and part-time, while continuing to make Guitar S in the workshop with his father, Marcel involves himself to draw and with encrer boards of Tanguy and Laverdure . In 1966, the editions Dargaud, located Street of Louvre, engages it part-time to create visual derivative products on the topic of Astérix (Papier painted, small paintings for rooms of children, glasses with mustard etc…)

In September 1967, Albert, his elder 7 years, full-time employs it at his place in Neuilly. Initially, he works on the adventures of the two famous aviators, then he carries out the Encrage S and the settings colors on the albums of Astérix, the adventures of Michel Tanguy being reassigned with Jijé, draftsman Belgian. This collaboration will last until February 1972.

Following a pause of more than two years, in September 1974, Marcel takes again his brush to work again at the Dargaud editions and to be devoted to the small Gallic until December 1979.

It is only in January 1980 which it launches out in an great adventure as a recluse on this vast sea which Of 1981 with 1985 is the data base, it draws three albums of the adventures of Mathias in a semi-humorous style with the editions Delachaux and Niestlé with the Moloch scenario writer. Mathias is the history of small Norman 18th century which leaves food fabulous adventures to the Canada… is followed from there: the magic Drum , the Mask iroquois and Gods of the lake . Just like the readers of Mathias , the authors hope for one day to give again the life with their small protected in order to prolong his adventures with the four corners of the world. Ten synopses were written for a possible publication.

Of 1982 with 1983, new appointment with Moloch for an adaptation of two novels of Gerard de Villiers, vice quads at Book Rise. For not froisser certain susceptibilities, the albums were signed Cristini, of the name of his/her mother.

In 1988, with a text of F. Benoit, the colors of Chagaud, always in a semi-humorous style, Marcel draws a second advertizing album the Stratagem for the Wellcome laboratories.

To date, it has about thirty albums to its credit, of which some are advertizing. It also takes part of time in other in certain collectives. Currently, installed in his workshop for his greater pleasure, Marcel always draws data bases, in a small village located in Normandy…
