Marcel Rudloff
Marcel Rudloff , Alsatian Politician, was born the March 15th 1923 with Strasbourg and deceased on March 23rd, 1996 in Strasbourg. He will be in particular mayor of this town of 1983 to 1989.
Course
After secondary studies in Strasbourg, he escapes from the Alsace in 1942 not to be built-in of force in the Wehrmacht. He then continues his academic works with the Faculty of Law and folded up Letters of Strasbourg with Clermont-Ferrand during the war. During its student's life, he is president of Friendly Students in Right then vice-president of AFGES.From return in Alsace, it obtains the Training certificate with the Occupation of Lawyer (WRAPPED) in 1944, and, after its training course, is registered at the Bar of Strasbourg in 1948. He is elected in 1950 president of young lawyers of the bar of Strasbourg; he becomes in 1952 vice-president of the National union of the Young lawyers (UNJA), then president. He enters in 1953 to the council about bar of Strasbourg. He becomes the barristers president in 1971 about it.
Member of the Popular Republican movement (MRP) since 1955, it enters in 1965 to the Municipal council of Strasbourg. In 1971, it is named assistant of the Mayor, is responsible for Youth, of the School, Socio-éducatives and Cultural Affairs. He is elected in 1983 mayor of Strasbourg and President of the Urban community of Strasbourg, taking the continuation of Pierre Pflimlin. He loses the municipal elections of 1989 against the Socialist Catherine Trautmann.
Of 1976 with 1988, he is General adviser of the the Low-Rhine. In 1980, it is elected President of the District council of Alsace and is re-elected in 1986 and 1992.
In 1977, it is elected senator, seat at the Commission of the Laws, brings back many legal texts in particular in the legal and legal fields. In 1986, it is re-elected with the Senate.
The February 25th 1992, it is named with the Constitutional council by the president of the Senate Alain Poher.
He dies on March 23rd 1996.
Works
It is under its mandate of mayor of Strasbourg that penetrating highway the west (A351) and south (A352) were in particular carried out.Its project of installation of a Public transport of the type VALLEY, underground in the central part of the city, however failed, having been blocked initially by the services of the State, then cancelled following the elections by the new municipal team, directed by Catherine Trautmann. Indeed, the creation of a new public transport in Exclusive right of way became one of the stakes of the election, the Socialists having opposed to the VALLEY a project of Tramway, finally carried out.
Posterity
Its name was given to a general-purpose college of Strasbourg, in the district of the Potteries, the Lycée Marcel Rudloff.
