Marcel Moyse
Marcel Moyse (born the May 17th 1889 with Saint-Love and dead on November 1st 1984 with the the United States) was a Flûtiste French and famous professor, who formed among the largest flutists of the 20th century.
He studied with Philippe Gaubert, Adolphe Hennebains and Paul Taffanel with the Conservatoire Higher National of Music of Paris. He was professor of flute to the Academy of 1932 to 1940 and professor of 1946 to 1948 with the Conservatoire of Geneva. He gave master classes of 1960 to 1970 in Switzerland, in the United States, in the United Kingdom and in Japan. Among its many pupils appear Trevor Wye, Jean-Pierre Eustace, William Bennett and Sir James Galway. He is the author of many publications including 37 volumes of methods of flute.
Albert Roussel dedicated the first movement of the to him Joueur of flute . Jacques Ibert wrote for him its concerto.
His/her Louis son is also a flutist and famous professor.
