Marcel Imsand

Marcel Imsand (born the September 15th 1929, with Pringy, village of Gruyere in the Canton of Freiburg) is a Photographe Suisse.

Biography

Of Valaisan origin, Marcel Imsand passes his childhood to Pringy with his grandparents, up to 6 years then with Broc where his/her father (Georges) and his/her mother (German) are workmen. At 15 years, it leaves its family in the search of a trade of which that of pastrycook with Vevey (1946). It not liking this trade, it leaves to Saint-Aubin in the Canton Neuchâtel, like mechanic's apprentice of precision, profession which he will exert until 1964.

In 1958, it Marie with Mylène with which he will have three children.

For him the technique came all alone because it did not follow a school but it makes photography since 1950. He becomes independent professional photograph since 1964 and is established with Lausanne. He develops itself his photographs.

He was inter alia, the photographer of the official book of the Fête of the vine growers to Vevey in 1977. Its portraits, its landscapes, its portraits of countryside or landscapes leave in memory a recognized style, full with love, tenderness and emotion. Marcel Imsand also exerted the social and journalistic illustrated report.
