Marcel Gimond

Marcel Gimond , sculptor, born the April 27th 1894 with the Tournon-on-Rhone.

It makes its studies with Lyon, with the Lycée Amp, then with the school of the Art schools where it is graduate in 1917.
Raise Aristide Maillol, it also meets Raoul Dufy or Auguste Renoir.
He is the friend of Jose de Bérys.
In 1936, it creates several sculptures for the Palais of Trocadéro and the Palais of Chaillot with Leon-Ernest Drivier and Paul Belmondo.
Of 1946 with 1960, it directs a workshop of the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the fine arts of Paris. It receives the National Grand Prix of Arts in 1957.
Marcel Gimond is known to be a specialist in the Buste S, it has like models of many political personalities and artistic. One also owes him to two Bas-relief S located in the hall of the newspaper Humanity, in homage to Marcel Cachin and Gabriel Péri.

He dies the October 13rd 1961 with Nogent-sur-Marne.
