Marcel Charon
Marcel Charon was born with Enghien in France from parents inhabitant of Li2ege. His/her father the painter Alphonse Charon works with the Manufacture of the Goblins. In 1901 return of the family to Liege and thanks to his/her father recontre Auguste Donnay and Richard Heintz]. After being close to the School of Barbizon, he discovers the expressionnism Flemish and been subject to the influences of Gustave De Smet, Constant Permeke, Frits Van den Berghe with the gallery Sélection which he visits in company of Auguste Mambour. In 1926 he is founding member in Liege of the group the Escalier with Mambour and Scauflaire. 1930, end of its period expressionnist, is put at the woodcarving and on stone, carries out many drawings. In 1953 exposes abstract gouaches to the gallery the Square in Liege, it will continue its abstract research until its death in 1961.

Marcel Charon built a work solid, cordial, while looking around him. Post-cubism and expressionism merge in hot colors which are spread with refinement.
