Marcel Bertone

Marcel Bertone is a resistant Communist French, born on October 9th, 1920 and shot by the Nazis on April 17th, 1942.

Born with Lyon, Marcel Bertone adheres to the Communist youths. As of the 16 years age, it takes part in the Guerre of Spain, in the international Brigades.

It returns to France in 1939 and works then as assistant-accountant. But when the war bursts, the Communists are suspect and Marcel Bertone is interned in various camps. October 7th, 1940, he escapes from the camp of Chibron (Var) and undertakes activities of sabotage with ftp.

He is stopped with two comrades on December 18th, 1941, whereas they tried to set fire to trucks of the Wehrmacht. He is judged in Paris with 26 other resistant and is shot to spring 1942 with the Mount-Valérien.

A place of Lyon (Cross-Russet-red the) bears its name.
