Marcel Arland , born the July 5th 1899 with Varennes-on-Amance (Haute-Marne) and dead the January 12th 1986 with Saint-Saver-on-School (Seine-et-Marne), is a Romancier, Essayiste and critical arts person French.
It launches with Rene Crevel and Roger Vitrac Aventure , a small newspaper supporting the Dadaïsme. Arland finds this support too violent and founds another sheet, Dés , which will count only two numbers. One of its first tests, a new evil of the century , draws the attention to him. Its critical work is considerable, as well by its chronicles with NRF as by its forewords and its anthologies of poetry and prose Frenchwomen. In 1952, it publishes an autobiographical account, the Consolation of the traveller .
It receives the Prix Goncourt in 1929 for the Order . It also receives the Grand Prix of literature of the French Academy, of which it is elected member in 1968.
