Marcel-Saupin stage

Built in 1937, the stage Marcel Saupin was the historical stage of FC Nantes.

Benefitting from promotion in D1 of the FC Nantes, the stage is renovated and increased in 25.000 then 29.500 places.

The Canaries gain with " Saupin" six their eight championships of France, without counting many matches of cut of France and cut of Europe. Matches of the team of France are also disputed there.

The FCN bids its farewell at the stage the April 28th 1984 to move in with the Beaujoire, modern stage built for the Euro 84 organized by France.

The Marcel-Saupin stage became since the stage of the Nantes reserve and is mainly demolished in August 2006. In an urban project of scale, and close to the future Euronantes, the installation of the site was left with the Parisian architect Philippe Gazeau. In this project, the Northern platform will be preserved and the other sites will accommodate a research center, a residence of services and head offices of companies by 2011.
