Marcel-Maurice Carpentier
Marcel-Maurice Carpentier (1895 - 1977) was an officer of the French army , credit during the Second world war and the Guerre of Indo-China.
Born on July 14th, 1895 with Marseilles, it was the elder one of its family. He studied with the military special École of Saint-Cyr military school. In 1937, it was promoted Chief of staff of the higher Command of the troops of the Raising. In 1940 - 1941, it was used as chief of staff of the forces of the Régime as Vichy stationed in North Africa and ordered by Jean de Lattre de Tassigny. In 1942, Carpentier joined the camp of the free France of the General Charles de Gaulle, and becomes chief of staff of the French task force of 1943 until 1944, where it then took the command of the 2nd Moroccan Division, for which it was useful until in 1945.
Promoted Large Officer of the Legion of Honor in 1947, it was named in 1949 commander-in-chief of the forces of the French Union in Indo-China, but was replaced in 1950 by Lattre. Carpentier turned over in Europe and was affected at the O.T.A.N in 1951.
