Marc Laviolette (political personality)
Marc Laviolette (born with Ottawa, in Ontario) was mayor of Ottawa for most of 1991. He was declared mayor the February 18th 1991 when the mayor of the time, James A. Durrell, resigned in order to become president of the Senators d' Ottawa. Mr. Laviolette was city council man district of By/Rideau since 1980.
He sought to obtain a second mandate but was beaten by Jacquelin Holzman with the general elections of 1991.
