Marc Hodler
Marc Hodler , born the October 26th 1918 with Bern, and deceased with Bern the October 18th 2006. He was a leading sportsman Suisse and was president of the International federation of ski between 1951 and 1998, leaving his place to his compatriot Gian-Franco Kasper.
Biography
He was also member of CIO since 1963.Large sportsman in his youths (in particular in Alpine skiing), it puts an end to his sporting career in 1938 after a serious accident. He moves then towards the activities technical and administrative, after having been leading of the team of Switzerland of Alpine skiing between 1939 and 1948 and meanwhile vice-president and section head of Alpine skiing of 1948 between 1940 and 1951 like person in charge of the alpine competitions to the Winter Olympics of 1948 with Saint-Moritz, he integrate the International federation of ski (MADE) in 1946 to become president of the committee of Descent and Slalom, then enters the council of MADE in 1949 to become the president in 1951 about it.
Beside that, Marc Hodler continuous despite everything the sport but as a leisure as the golf (of which he was captain of the team of Bern during 18 years), tennis or swimming, on the other hand decides to continue his career in the bridge where he was with three resumptions champion of Switzerland, and will decide in 1944 to take the head of the Swiss Federation of Bridge.
