He would have been paid 150.000 euros to put in contact the Lebanese businessman and the newspaper in order to write an eulogistic article whereas Iskandar Safa was in full legal storm (business of the illegal Financement of the RPF).
Marc Francelet was put in examination for corruption by the judge Philippe Courroye and hold for two months.
April 11th, 2007, Franz-Olivier Giesbert is heard by the police force for the publication in 2005 of an obliging article of its newspaper the Point on the Lebanese billionaire Iskandar Safa, sought by Justice. The company of the writers of the Not , in an internal official statement, was said “dismayed” and asked the direction of the magazine “that in the future, this kind of adviser does not have, as it was the case, open door with the Point ”.
