Marc Elsen

Marc Elsen (Small-Rechain, January 4th 1960 -) is a Belgian Politician French-speaking, member of the humanistic democratic Center.

Bachelor in psychological sciences of the University of Liege, he is currently Senator, deputy of the French community and chief of the cdH group at the town council of Verviers.

Political career

  • 1988 -: To advise communal in Verviers

  • 1994-2000: Alderman of the personnel, the quality of the life, the festivals and twinnings with Verviers
  • 2000-2006: Alderman of town planning, the environment and town and country planning with Verviers
  • Appointed at the Parliament of the French Community for the district of Verviers (since April 23rd, 2002).

  • 2006 : January 27th, Marc Elsen is designated by a popular vote “Verviétois of the year. ”

  • October 2006: Marc Elsen is the big winner of the communal elections and the cdh obtains 3 additional seats (12 seats). The PS, principal party of Verviers with 15 seats, chooses to be combined with the third (MR.: 6 seats) and thus returns the cdH in the opposition.

  • July 2007: Marc Elsen is elected Senator of community.
