Marc Chirik

Marc Chirik (1907-1990)

Already any young person in a province far away from the Russian empire in Bessarabia with Kichinev (now Chişinău in Moldavie), it vibrated for the revolution of October while following his acquired brothers to the party of Lénine. Emigrated with his parents and several of his brothers in Palestine in 1921 following the occupation of Kichinev by the Rumanian troops, it takes part with his brothers and sisters with the Communist party of Palestine founded in 1919, at the time it gathered the Palestinian and Jewish workers. Marc (Mordkhai) Chirik there will be, in spite of his young age, member of the central committee of Communist youth and will sympathize with the opposition. On the way for Russia in 1924 with one of his brothers to take part in Ve Congrès of the International Communist (June 1924), it fails in France, where it will carry out until after the war a life of workman stateless person. Fortunately for him, the Soviet authorities had not granted papers necessary to him: it would have finished in the jails Stalinist like his older brother. In France its life of oppositional starts. It is initially one of the founders of the Léniniste unit in 1927 under the name of Marc “Lavergne” then takes part in the Fraction of left with Albert Treint; member of the Executive commission of the communist League and the tendency Treint (1932-1933). In 1933, it is among the founders of the communist Union which gathers all oppositional French (the 31 trotskists remaining with the Communist League are obliged to make infiltration in SFIO not to disappear. But this choice is not taste of all and still involves other departures in the League).

Its evolution in direction of the Gauche Communist continues; in 1937-1938, it integrates the Italian fraction. During the war (1941-1942), it is among the comrades of the Italian Left wing who take again the torch of proletarian internationalism and invites the European workmen to turn over their weapons against their own middle-class that it is democratic, fascistic or Stalinist. It is truly the hour of glory of the Italian communist left wing. It is among the only groups not to be carried by ambient nationalism. With Robert Salama “Mousso” and then Serge Bricianer in particular, it animates the French Fraction of the communist Left then Gauche Communist of France (GCF) as of the years 1944 whose newspaper was called Internationalisme. Goupil joined the group in 1947 at the time of the great Renault strike in 1947.

The communist Left of France carried out an important combat. Its political and theoretical assessment is impressive:

  • the trade-union question: trade unions as being definitively integrated at the middle-class State and, consequently, not being able more to be one instrument of the proletariat;
  • the national question: the national liberation struggles are not any more of the fights progressists and are on the contrary one moment of the confrontation between the West and Eastern bloc;
  • the capitalist nature of the USSR;
  • the question of the decline of capitalism;
  • the question of measurements of the transitional period.

The awaited revolutionary transformation of the war imperialist into civil war not having taken place and considering that the Guerre of Korea (1950-1953) was only the prelude of the 3rd world war, it decides, as well as other militants, to leave Europe. He will emigrate in 1952 in Venezuela, where find we it in 1965 animating, under the name of “Marco”, a group, Internacionalismo, young comrades of which RV. At the end of May 1968, after having analyzed that the general political situation had changed, that against revolution and that one directed oneself towards a resumption of the class struggle, and under the impact of the generalized strike of May 68 it was finished returns to France. Consequently it will be harnessed during more than 20 years, of 1968 with its death in 1990, to gather revolutionary energies. It takes part in the creation of International Révolution in 1968 on the basis of position of the GCF stated above, then International Communist Running (CCI) in 1975. It forever required glory nor to propose itself. It preserved all its life a great friendship and complicity with Jean Malaquais (of its true name Vladimir Malacki). If one wants to have a certain idea of the passion of the political discussion of Marc Chirik, it is necessary to read in Planet without visa the discussion described very well by Jean Malaquais, between Laverne (name of war modified of Marc in years 20-30) and the owner of the “Crunch-fruit” which was held during nights and nights. It succeeded with brushing it so much well with all its practices or tics that one with the impression to be vis-a-vis Marc Chirik.
