Marakei

Marakei is a Atoll Kiribati, in the archipelago of the islands Gilbert (septentrional).

Its surface is of 13,5 km ² for a population of 2.312 Gilbertins. The majority of the historians consider that the crew of Hernando de Grijalva on the San Juan observed Marakei and Abaiang in 1587.
