Marí Bim Amude Alkatiri (November 26th 1949 -), was the Prime Minister Eastern Timor of the May 20th 2002 with the June 26th 2006.

Under the occupation indonésienne, Alkatiri saw in exile in other old Portuguese colonies , with the Mozambique and in Angola and works there as geometrician. Alkatiri is member of the Fretilin, old the guerilla become dominant party.

Riots burst in Eastern Timor in May 2006 continuation of violent one fixings within the army. Alkatiri is shown to have used units of the army to eliminate its adversaries physically. The June 25th, two Ministers for the government of Alkatiri resign, the president Xanana Gusmão threat him also to resign if its Prime Minister from does not go away. The party Fretilin with the capacity does not ask for the resignation of Alkatiri but this last leaves however its functions on June 26th.
