Marçon

Marçon is a common French, located in the department of the the Sarthe and the area Pays of the Loire.

Its inhabitants is called marçonnais them and marçonnaies.

Geography

Commune of the south of the the Sarthe, Marçon is located in the valley of the Loir, between Castle-of-Dormouse and the Chartre-on-the-Dormouse, on the secondary road n°305.

Religious heritage

  • Church Notre-Dame, it was devoted on April 25th 1500 by the archbishop of Turns, Monseigneur de Bénéhard. The bell-tower is surmounted by an arrow covered with slate which is slightly twisted, with the result that this church is indexed like having a twisted Clocher. The arrow turns from right to left of 1/16e of turn.

Civil inheritance

  • the School canteen " Le Corbusier " : In 1957, celebrates it architect contacted by the mayor of the time Mr. Armand de Malherbe, drew with his/her collaborator André Wogenscky, the plans of the school canteen. It opened its doors in 1960.
