November 11th, 1943, the Maquis of Ain and the High-Jura , with the orders of the colonel Novel-Small Henri, takes possession of the town of Oyonnax (Ain) and ravels until the War memorial the, depositing there a sheaf in the shape of Cross of Lorraine carrying the inscription " Winners of tomorrow to those of 14-18" . After one minute of silence and a Marseilles entonnée with crowd, they joins their camps in the mountain. A few weeks later, the Anglo-Saxon press diffused the news which, says one, completed to convince Churchill of the need for arming the French Résistance. Oyonnax was rewarded for its enthusiasm by the Médaille of the Resistance which appears under its Blason.
