The Mapouka , so known under the name of Macouka , is a traditional Danse south-east of the Ivory Coast in the area of Dabou, sometimes carried out at the time of religious ceremonies.

This dance, by its Choreography dared, could make believe that it is about erotic dance. In the Years 1980, artists of the Ivory Coast tried without much success to make known it. One of the most known groups is Tueuses de Mapouka .

In 1998, CNCA decides to prohibit its diffusion. It is following this prohibition that the dance knows a very fast propagation in the countries Sub-saharien S.
