Maple Trident

The maple Trident ( Acer buergerianum also called " maple of Burger ") is a species of maple originating in China of the East. This maple was introduced in England in 1898. It owes its Latin name with Dutch Heinrich Buerger (1804-1858), " récolteur" with the Japan for the Dutch government.

Description

It is a Arbre with sheets Caduque S which can reach 10 to 15 m in height, and a trunk which can reach 50 cm in diameter.

Its rough bark is gray with beige clearly sometimes moderate of orange.

The Feuilles green shining from 4 to 8 cm length are opposed, with a petiole from 2 to 5 cm. Their 3 lobes form a three-pronged fork. They transfer with the carmine red in autumn.

Small Fleur S green yellow appears in spring, in Corymbe S.

The Fruit is a Samare made up of two Graine S winged 4-6 mm in diameter, with a wing of approximately 15 Misters.

The species is often called by " error; buergeranum".

Use

The maple three-pronged fork is a species very much used in Bonsai. It is also planted like ornamental tree in the parks and gardens of Europe and North America.
