Manubrium

In Anatomy, the manubrium designates the upper part of the Sternum, on which are articulated the Clavicule S. This word comes from Latin, meaning handle , handle because of its particular form. Its thickness is from approximately 10-12 Misters.

It has a higher edge, the jugular Incisure which can easily be palpated with the root of the Cou. One finds there the aponévrose cervical surface the former face, and the aponévrose cervical average on the posterior edge.

It also articulates with the Cartilage first coast, the higher half of the second, like with the body of the sternum by the Synchondrose manubrio-sternale or angle of the sternum.
