Manu Larcenet

Emmanuel Larcenet , known as Manu Larcenet or Larcenet , (born the May 6th 1969 with Issy-les-Moulineaux) is an author of Cartoon French. Of 1994 with 2006, it collaborates in the magazine Icy Fluide , for which it carries out primarily humorous accounts, while publishing more intimate works with the Rêveurs, publisher that it created in 1994. Since the beginning of the years 2000, its albums published at Dargaud, and particularly the ordinary Combat , did one of the French-speaking principal authors of them.

Biography

Manu Larcenet begins in the cartoon in 1994, when it is allowed within Icy Fluide . Its stories, impregnated of absurdity, Nonsense and parodic humor , often lorgnant towards the schoolkid and the spirit Punk are purer school Fluide . In 1998, it launches there Bill Baroud , spy whose adventures point out those of Bob Morane, in less Glamor. In addition to this series, it realizes for Fluide between 1998 and 2005 of many short stories taking for topic Superhéros wrongfully ignored , Robin of Wood ( the Legend of Robin of Wood ), or the jungle which is the medium of the company ( the Guide of survival in company ). The six episodes of Minimal , in 2003, mark a rupture. In these pages, which make fun of the intellectualist drifts of the alternate cartoon, Larcenet is done more corrosive and harder. End 2005 to 2006, it draws on scenario of Lindingre At Francisque , which evokes the conversations of French reactionaries counter and racists. In 1994, Larcenet creates the collection " … " well will be seen; at the Dreamers of Rune and illustrates Raoul , parodic roleplay created by his/her Patrice brother, published by the Dreamers of Rune. Of 1997 with 2004, Larcenet continues its course of general public author while collaborating in Spirou , mainly with Jean-Michel Thiriet ( the Life is short ), Gaudelette ( Pedro Coati ).

Starting from 1997, Larcenet uses the Dreamers of Rune to publish more intimate works, with the limit of experimental, under the influence of Association and Lewis Trondheim, one of its pillars. Of Dallas Cowboy (1997) with Ex Abrupto (2005), by using a looser and expressive feature, Larcenet wonders about creation, death, or the Obésité. It is within this structure that it publishes in 2006 Critixman , opus directed against the critical autoproclamés readers of cartoon who briskly descend the authors on the forums and specialized sites, but also, in the line of Minimal , against the positions of certain authors who want to be “avant-gardists” and prove finally only of pedants disserteurs. In 2000, it enters with Entremondes the collection Pilot fish of the editions Dargaud. It creates four other series there: the return to the ground (in collaboration with Jean-Yves Ferri), Cosmonauts of the future (in collaboration with Lewis Trondheim), a rocambolesque adventure of… and NIC Oumouk . These series to which can be added the Donjon Parades , enable him to touch an audience larger than that of Icy Fluide , while being less restricted than that of the Dreamers.

Launching in 2003 of the ordinary Combat , which obtains without surprised the price of the best album to the Festival of Angouleme 2004, mark dedication of Larcenet. With these albums, which mix autobiography and reflection, and whose graphics show the maturity of the feature of its author, Larcenet joined Lewis Trondheim, Sfar or Blutch in the circle of the great authors appeared with the beginning of the year 1990. It resides today at the Wood-with Oingt.
