Mano Solo

Mano Solo (born Emmanuel Cabut with Châlons-sur-Marne the April 24th 1963) is a Chanteur French. He is the son of the draftsman Cabu and Isabelle Monin, Co-founder of the magazine devoted to ecology, the open Mouth .

Biography

As of 17 years, he plays in a group Punk, the Chihuahuas, in which he is guitarist but it is at the beginning of the Années 1990 that he passes behind the microphone and interprets his texts. He frequently sings with the theater of Tourtour with Marousse and P' tit Louis. The first album, the naked Kids leaves in 1993 and is sold with 100.000 specimens the first year. In 1995 leaves the second album, the dark Years , which is, as its title indicates it, an album sinks (gold disc also as of the first months)…

It finds the following year in 1996 part of the Chihuahuas for the album Frères Misery . The rates/rhythms are sometimes close to the Punk and the texts approach topics more committed than for the preceding albums solo. Little mediatized, this album will not meet an immediate success.

Simultaneously with its career of singer, Mano Solo develops other talents. It draws and paints, in particular the small pockets of its albums. He also writes and with the money gained thanks to the music, he assembles his own company of edition (naked Kids) and publishes two works. In 1995, a collection of poems, I am there, and in 1996, a novel, Joseph under the rain (exhausted).

In 1997 leaves a new album solo: I do not know too (Disque of gold) recorded live with the melodies and once again original sonorities.

Two years later, Mano Solo records the double-album Internationale Shalala into live in Tourtour, a small theater where it occurs regularly since its beginnings. He only plays guitar, accompanied (with the guitar also) by Jean-Louis Solans. The pieces are extracted from the preceding albums solos, except for the Shalala , an anthem of “interior revolution” that the artist sings with his public at the end in each concert. Its message is positive and dynamic.

Its second album live, entitled Walk , leaves in 2002, it takes again mainly pieces of the album Dehors , left meanwhile (in August 2000). The album is accompanied by a DVD where the artist makes appear, at the side photographs and extracts in concerts, animations in synthesized images left its own imagination. Since 2001, Mano Solo is interested of close to Internet, it creates and develops its own site around its centers of political, social and artistic interests, encouraging its visitors to be them-even creative.

In 2004 leaves Animals . As with each album, the sound is new and the texts always release the same energy been useful by a controlled language of a great poetry. Certain titles are new recordings of old songs. Y also appears the title Botzaris , recorded with the Pig-headeds.

It makes two appearances on the album In the stone of Karpatt.

In 2006, Mano Solo does not renew its contract Warner, his recording company. It own-produced with a new album, In The Garden , which left in March 2007. He proposes this disc with the Vente by subscription since the September 18th. Every month, the subscriber has access to new contents (songs or films) and to the exit, it receives the album. The collected money will be used for the promotion of the album. By this step, the artist wishes to dissociate traditional industry while showing that the artistic production has a cost.

Mano Solo remains before a whole very committed artist. In March 2006 it organizes a concert in Bataclan whose funds were transferred with the Fazasoma association which comes to assistance of the Malagasy population. It also animates, since January 2007, a radio program on Aligre FM (93.1), the Nail of the Evening, all last Saturdays of the month of midnight to step of hours, where it calls on those which do not have it.
