Mannéens
The Mannéens (biblical name Minni ) are ancient people of unknown origin, which lived on the territory in the west of current the Iranian Azerbaïdjan in Iran, between and it. At that time, they were close to the empires Assyrie N and Urartu, as well as other small states, like Musasir and Zikirta.
Their original territory was located at the east and the south of the Lac of Orumieh, about centered around the modern Mahabad, and to their maximum extension, their borders extended until the Koura. Excavations which started into 1956 made it possible to discover the strengthened city of Hasanlu.
The ethnic origins and linguistic affinities of these people are dubious. They are sometimes regarded as not being origin Indo-européenne; however, certain historians see similarities between Mannéens and certain Indo-Iranian groups like the Scythes. The mannéens could also have been a branch of the Hourrites (Khurrites).
Mannéens were replaced by the Iranian Mèdes, and more probably after the establishment of the first Iranian government on the plate by the dynasty Mède (728 - 550 av. JC), Mannéens were dissolvèrent in the Iranian company.
