Manhattanville

Manhattanville is a district of the Borough of Manhattan, with New York. Manhattanville is bordered by Morningside Heights in the south, Harlem in the east, Washington Heights in north, and the Hudson River in the west. The district of thus extends from the 122e street to the 135e street, even certain statements are delimited it only 125e street with the 135e. With the XIXe century, Manhattanville was a very dynamic small town because of its proximity with the Hudson River where many ships traded each day. The possibilities of industrial development, and freight were thus important since the district, because of its proximity with the very active south of Manhattan, played the part of a stage city with all the Hinterland of the Hudson River. Manhattanville also enjoyed its proximity with the Bloomingdale Road , and its hotels and places of entertainment made of it an ideal place of retreat for the New Yorkeans.

Manhattanville is moreover an important university district, in measurement it must accommodate the new infrastructures of the Université Columbia which will come to supplement off those of the City College New York, present in the district since 1906.
