Mangarti

Mangarti is the Mongolian name of a Card deck. He is played with one pack of 52 cards and a book to enter the points. Mangarti means " stupide" in Mongolian language and the rules of the game seem indeed the being. Actually, there is not gaining strictly speaking because the play stops as soon as a player adds up 108 points.

Mangarti is a play of trues and there are related versions (under the name of Mao, the Uno or the Eight American). The name of Mangarti is probabalement with a popularization of this last play at one time when all that came from America could only be " stupide" or " idiot".

Rules of the game

The play consists in eliminating a player at the points.

To retain only the 32 charts above the six. To mix the charts and to cross. The donor distributes 5 charts to each player. To make a pile with the remainder of the charts, hidden sides: it will constitute the pickaxe .

To turn over the first chart of the pickaxe, to pose it face visible beside the pickaxe, in order to begin the heel . This chart will be useful like home base. If it is about a lady, the donor chooses the color.

The players true their charts while following either the same color (heart, spade, square, clover), or while following some the same value. The action also depends on the preceding chart which is posed on the heel.

Several parts are played, and one counts after each part the points (sum of the value of the charts of each player). Play arrète as soon as a joor reached or exceeded the 108 points. If it has pile 108 points, its score falls down at 54 points and thus it continues to play.

Value and effects of the charts on the play

" Dames" : 30 points The player who deposits this chart must choose the color (he will announce his choice by playing the chart) or to continue in the color requested. If it is about the first chart of the heel, the donor will choose the starting color then. A Lady can be played after any other chart (but not after Have which cancels the turn of the player). If the Lady is cut down in last chart it allows to deduct 30 points with the player.

" 7" : 0 points It is a quite particular chart, and all the play polarizes on the " 7" : the 7 makes it possible to penalize the player following by obliging it to pick three charts, except if it has one seven which it can then cut down and it is the following player who must take 6 charts then and so on. The rule of the 7 is valid even if the player cuts down his last chart.

" As" : 11 points When this chart is played, the following player passes purely and simply his turn. If it is the first chart of the heel, the first to be played will be then the 2nd player located on the right of the donor. If two Aces are posed, they is the two following players who jump their turn.

" 10" : 10 points When the 10 is played, the direction of the play changes. In other words, if the play evolved/moved until there in the direction of the needles of a watch, it will have to then evolve/move now in the opposite direction… until another 10 is played. Idem if it is the first chart of the heel: the first to be played will be then the player located on the right of the donor. Attention has rule of the ten is a " nouveauté".

Ace: 11 points (see above) Kings: 4 points Ladies: 30 points (see above) Servants: 2 points 10,9 & 8: 10,9 and 8 points 7: 0 points (see above).
