Maneka Gandhi

Maneka Gandhi (Born the August 26th 1956 Monika Anand with Delhi) is a political woman Indie, défenseuse of the Droits of the animals and old a Journaliste. It was minister of 4 governments and wrote many books on the ethymology, the right and the defense of the animals. It is a family member Nehru-Gandhi.

Youths

Maneka Gandhi was born with Delhi and studied with the Lawrence School, Sanawar, then with the Lady Shriram College with New Delhi. She marries then Sanjay Gandhi, wire of the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Old mannequin and editor of the magazine Surya India. Maneka Gandhi enters in policy in 1982 after the death of her husband a flight accident and asserts the political heritage of this last vis-a-vis new the " dauphin" , Rajiv Gandhi. Political career

Maneka Gandhi founds the Sanjay Vichar Manch (" Platform for the thought of Sanjay") in 1983 from the point of view of the next elections planned for 1985. Approaching the chief minister of Andra Pradesh Rowed Rao in the opposition to the Prime Minister, it joins together around his movement of dissatisfied with the Congress (I). It defies Rajiv Gandhi openly while being presented in the district of Amethi, formerly held by her Sanjay husband. It joined the Janata Dal in 1988 of which it becomes the general secretary in 1989. She gains her first election in 1989 and becomes Minister of environment of 1989 with 1991 in the cabinet of V.P. Singh. She is the initiator of the Indian ministry of the animal wellbeing.

In 1996 and 1998, it is re-elected with the Lok Sabha of independent, appointed of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh and becomes Minister of state for Social justice and Minister for the Culture under governments directed by BJP. His/her son Varun Gandhi is also member of BJP.

Activism

Gandhi is an environmentalist who raised the question of the Droits animals in India. It creates in 1992 association People for Animals . It chairs in 2007 the jury of the Energy Globe Awards . It is Vegan and with writing of many books on the question

Journalism

As a journalist, Maneka Gandhi is known to have published in the Surya magazine of the photographs of Sexual relationships between Suresh RAM (Wire of the Minister for the defense of then Babu Jagjivan RAM) and Sushma Chaudhury, a coed of University off Delhi.
