Mandos

Mandos is a divinity of the imaginary world of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Mandos is a Vala and belonged to the Aratar. He is the husband of Valië Vairë. Its true name is Námo , it is more known under the name of Mandos because it is the place where it resides at Valinor. The greatest capacity of Mandos is that of perspicacity, indeed on several occasions it envisaged many evils which were going to fall down on Arda. But it is especially known for its Caves, a place where all the beings (including the Elfes) go after their death on standby of their judgment vis-a-vis him. If the Elves turn over in Valinor after a more or less raised amount of time, nobody knows what arrives to the Men after their passage in the Caves of Waiting.
