Mandore

The mandore or mandole also known under the name of gallizona or of gallichon , is a Musical instrument with cord S of the Moyen-âge, similar to the Luth, with 3,4 or 6 cords which produces an acuter sound. Its case in the half-pear shape precedes the Mandoline of which it is the ancestor.

This instrument is not any more of use. Even with the reactualization of the old Music at the end of the 20th century, one always preferred the Luth to him. The Chaâbi uses an instrument resulting from the arabo-Andalusian Musique related with the mandole (with sonorities of guitar, provided with four double metal cords)
